Three new paintings from the recent school holidays. The one of Cambodia is the last in my series from a past trip to the region. The two of Laos are the first to be painted following my recent trip there.

'Wanganui River View', 1998. Watercolour. I have had times were I have been very fond of watercolour, mainly as a way of sorting out colour before starting a piece in oil. I have also produced many watercolours for the fun of it, the process being more relaxing and less taxing than oil painting. I have many old sketchbooks full of pictures like this but I haven't really indulged of late. I am having a show with Stephen Luther at Suite Gallery in Newtown. The show is open from Wednesday the 1st until the 11th of June but the opening function will be on the first Friday night, the 3rd. The work I'm showing is a selection of work from the last three years but there are a couple of older pieces there too. |
