Seen this century - 100 contemporary New Zealand artists A collector's guide by Warwick Brown Warwick Brown published 100 New Zealand Artists and Another 100 New Zealand Artists in the early 1990s to great acclaim and now he's back with a book that taps into the vigorous art market in a canny manner and features work by Matthew Summers. Taking 100 artists who have come to prominence since 2000 (hence the word play of Seen This Century) he gives the collector an invaluable tool by highlighting who is on the rise, who will become the next big thing and whose work should be bought now before prices skyrocket

BOOK
It's all about the image by Dick Frizzell Take a trip through New Zealand art via Dick Frizzell's point of view. He shines a light on some of the works he's always loved - including work by Matthew Summers. It's an eclectic bunch of paintings and begins with images he was drawn to (because that's what it was all about.images) back before he was told what he'd be better off looking at. Written in Dick's self-proclaimed gonzo style, this is a fascinating discussion of art history through the eyes of our most mainstream populist artist. Examines the stars of NZ painting in a colloquial and revelatory way.
